HedgerX regulation: what the FinCEN registration means
HedgerX Inc. says it completed a FinCEN Money Services Business registration in March 2026 and gives the number 31000323612731. A registration is not a licence to trade. It is the only regulatory status HedgerX names.
How to check the registration
- Open FinCEN's MSB registrant search. It is the public list of registered money services businesses on the FinCEN website.
- Search by the number. Enter 31000323612731, the number HedgerX gives for HedgerX Inc.
- Compare the details. Check that the entity name, the registration date (March 2026 according to HedgerX) and the status match.
- Treat a mismatch as a stop. If the number is not found or belongs to another entity, do not deposit and ask HedgerX for an explanation.
What HedgerX states
- HedgerX Inc. completed a U.S. FinCEN Money Services Business registration in March 2026.
- The registration number is 31000323612731.
- It says it is improving KYC, AML, account risk classification, transaction monitoring, regional service management, platform audits and reserve transparency, and that product availability depends on local rules.
What an MSB registration is, and is not
FinCEN is the US Treasury bureau that supervises anti-money-laundering rules, and an MSB registration puts a business on its record under those rules. The registration is not a trading licence, a bank licence or an endorsement. It does not mean customer funds are insured or held in reserve.
HedgerX’s website adds that it is “licensed by top countries”. It names no country or regulator, and we have not yet confirmed the claim.
The KYC and AML policy HedgerX states
- A risk-based approach in line with FATF recommendations, with periodic risk assessments across products, customers, transactions and jurisdictions.
- Customer due diligence at registration, at the first transaction, on deposits, when something looks suspicious and when data seems wrong.
- Enhanced checks for politically exposed persons, high-risk jurisdictions, opaque companies, large anonymous transactions, remote openings and adverse media.
- Automated and manual monitoring, and suspicious transaction reports to the relevant financial intelligence unit, filed without telling the customer. Accounts may be suspended.
- The English version of the policy prevails over translations.
Plans HedgerX lists
HedgerX says it will keep studying the rules in key markets, adapt to each region, and gradually improve audits, proof of reserves and financial standardisation. These are plans in a company presentation, not published results.
Limits and restrictions
The terms of use let HedgerX restrict, freeze or close accounts in cases of fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing or other high-risk activity. Disputes go to arbitration in HedgerX’s jurisdiction, which the terms do not name. HedgerX’s risk disclosure adds that some regions may prohibit or restrict derivatives trading, so you need to check your local rules.
