Key points

  • Purpose. The paper presents HEX as the core utility token of the HedgerX ecosystem. It ties together trading benefits, applications, incentives, buybacks and burns, and planned on-chain infrastructure.
  • Model. HedgerX calls its approach a cycle-resilient growth model. In bull markets it aims to amplify growth. In bear markets it aims to retain users, assets and activity through recurring purchases of major assets, allocation products, research, grants and community tasks.
  • Supply. The maximum is 210,000,000 HEX, a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain. The long-term target is 21,000,000, a 90% reduction.
  • Allocation. 55% mining and burn pool, 13% strategic reserve, 8% community incentives, 8% liquidity and listing, 6% foundation fund, 5% brand, 5% team.
  • Burns. Seven sources: trading-fee buybacks, application consumption, Launchpad and Launchpool, ecosystem onboarding, token payments, Research and Grants, and future gas.
  • Uses. Fee discounts, VIP tiers, application payments, Launchpad access, referral rewards and Research and Grants. Gas, settlement, staking and governance are planned.
  • Governance. Four phases, from platform-led to open ecosystem governance.
  • Roadmap. Five phases, from the core exchange to an open on-chain ecosystem, with no dates.
  • Compliance statement. HEX is not a security, the paper is not investment advice and it makes no return commitment. It lists twelve risk categories.

What it leaves out

The paper gives no vesting schedule for any allocation, no dates for the 21,000,000 target and no share of revenue for buybacks. It describes audits, multisig controls, burn addresses and reports as things HedgerX will establish.

The HEX token page has the figures and our reading of them.
